SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES
The specific objectives and purposes of this corporation shall be:
To transform lives “one stride at a time”, through a direct application of horse related activities and equine therapy;
To include riding of horses, ground management of horses, recreation and fun as all elements are employed, through a unique combination of equine related activities;
To enhance the quality of life of children, teens, and adults through the use of horses and the “barn experience”;
To create an environment which will impart life skills and an improved work ethic,
To install a sense of confidence, trust and hope in children/adults, while encouraging them to reach beyond limitations;
To recognize that most of the children/adults that participate in this program are hurting in some way, in many shapes and forms: mentally, physically, emotionally, and functionally;
To serve these disabilities which can include but are not limited to: autism, Down’s syndrome, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, multiple sclerosis, emotional disabilities, PTSD, amputations, learning disabilities, as well as attention deficit disorders through the healing process of enhanced riding techniques;
To provide direct access to horses as a growing experience, which studies have shown are a benefit to healthy children/adults in their personal growth;
To encourage and have a greater appreciation and understanding of others, bringing hope to the spirit of the wounded as they come to believe that they too can have hope for the future; and
Through all these benefits of equine therapy and recreation, to transform students, one stride at a time, as part of the Glory Reins Riding School.
Directors
Qualifications for directors of this corporation shall be selected to give a mix of:
Health care administrators,
Local area residents who understand the requirement for the child/adult transformation on a local level,
Horse knowledgeable personnel who can best adapt the equine service, and
Private local individuals who can access the area requirement and find the fit within the county for this service.
Duties of the directors shall be:
Perform any and all duties imposed on them collectively or individually by law, by the articles of incorporation, or by these bylaws;
Appoint and remove, employ and discharge, and, except as otherwise provided in these bylaws, prescribe the duties and fix the compensation, if any, of all officers, agents, and employees of the corporation;
Supervise all officers, agents, and employees of the corporation to assure that their duties are performed properly;
Meet at such times and places as required by these bylaws;
Register their addresses with the Secretary of the corporation, and notices of meetings mailed or emailed to them at such addresses shall be valid notices thereof.
